Mohamed Khaleel

Mr. Mohamed Khaleel is a director and shareholder of the Reollo Group of companies. He brings over two decades of experience across numerous leadership roles in a variety of business operations. He has worked extensively in the area of hospitality and tourism operations, holding senior positions in operations and sales and marketing for major Maldivian travel companies as well as fulfilling leadership roles in some of the largest tourism associations and destination management companies in the country.

In 2011, Mr. Khaleel was elected as the president of the Maldives Association of Travel Agents & Tour Operators (MATATO), a key stakeholder in the Maldivian tourism industry, representing over 70 travel agents and tour operators in the country. The association acts as a channel for communication between tour operators and other stakeholders of the industry, taking leadership in advocacy, and lobbying government, local and international resort chains and other hospitality entities to ensure a healthy environment for tour operators and travel agents in the country.  Under his leadership, the association had achieved major milestones, including the introduction of The MATATO Travel Awards, providing the tourism sector with a platform for recognition of their standards of facilities and service excellence.  Mr. Khaleel was intimately involved in the development of this annual event, and he continues to be a key member of this association.

As a well-recognized and accepted member of the travel and tourism community, and with many years of experience in the industry, in 2013, Mr. Mohamed Khaleel was appointed as the chairman of the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), the country’s official destination marketing company. Since his appointment, he has been working tirelessly to take the Maldivian tourism industry to the next level. 

Mr. Khaleel is a director and shareholder of several construction and property development companies which are currently undertaking large scale projects in the Maldives. These include O+E Holdings Pvt Ltd, a company which was created to develop Niyama Maldives; a luxury resort featuring the world’s first underwater nightclub, Kadimma Holdings Pvt. Ltd, which is developing one of the largest tourist resorts in the country, Hiriyaafushi Holdings Pvt. Ltd, which is developing a multi-million dollar premium luxury resort, and Reollo Construction Pvt. Ltd, which recently completed phase two construction of Niyama Maldives. Mr. Khaleel is also a director of Dhaalu Airport Holdings, which is a subsidiary of Reollo Investment. Reollo Investment is currently engaged in a collaborative public infrastructure development project with the government which involves the construction of the Dhaalu Atoll Domestic Airport, which will become a key domestic transportation link to the Southern Atolls.

Mr. Khaleel is also a director in multiple companies which focuses on retail sales, targeting the tourist market. These include Reollo Enterprise, which manages Reo Boutique, and KS Holdings which operates souvenir shops in several resort properties.
